Update 10.17.2024: Happy 71st Swaz! New songs added to playlist.

Steven Michael Swersky
Was born on October 17th, 1953
This past November marked the 30th year since Steven left us, and this October marks what would've been his 69th birthday (time flies doesn't it?). To commemorate this year we thought we'd put together a place online for family and friends to appreciate his life. Many who knew Swaz knew he had a strong creative side with his humorous and quirky short stories, his deep explorative poetry, and his unique artwork. He had a strong affinity for music. And he loved his family and friends more than anything.
With the new arrival of his grandchildren over the past few years, who we know he would have absolutely adored, we wanted a place where they could get to know who he was, when the time is right... We hope this can be that place.
On this site you will find photos of Swaz through the years, some of his writings and art work, and a place for us all to share memories of him. We hope you enjoy what we have put together here and we hope it gives you a chance to revisit some of your favorites times with Swaz and, of course, a chance to keep him in your heart. For those of you who may not have known him, this is a place to discover the truly unique and special person he was and see some of the beautiful traits he has passed on to his kids, family, and friends.

If there is a gift to his passing, it must be the lesson to try embrace every moment we have here. Life truly is about the moments, the memories, the good times and the tougher ones on this journey. We get to have gratitude for them all while we are here together. That is the gift Swaz left us. There is another gift of his passing, which is the new people that came into the Swersky's lives, such as the Smidt family, as well as the deeper connections formed with family and friends after he left. We know he is smiling down at it all :)

This site is also dedicated in many ways to Sue Swersky whose love and uplifting way of being allowed the family to thrive despite the loss of Swaz <3

One more thing... We mentioned how much he loved music. In the footer of the site is a playlist with some songs we think he would have enjoyed. If you'd like to add some flavor to your experience here, hit play and then explore :) Unfortunately you will have to sign into Spotify to listen to the full songs otherwise you will just get about 30 seconds at a time.
